Connecting Caring Growing
Small groups originated with Jesus. He had a small group of 12 (a.k.a., the Apostles) where they experienced authentic fellowship. Jesus prayed that we would be in unity and deep fellowship with Him and with each other. Jesus’ last prayer before going to the cross was for you and me, for us right now:
"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:20-21 NIV).
Our Vision: Connecting - Caring - Growing
- Connecting to God through prayer and application of God’s Word, and connecting to each other in authentic fellowship and safe discussions around God’s Word.
- Caring for each other by practicing grace (God and the group is for you), and truth (God’s truth and reality from others).
- Growing spiritually together as we grow God's Kingdom
How do we do this? By practicing the
Small Group Values
- GOD-CENTERED – God is first in all things, centered on prayer and God’s Word
- CARE – provide and accept love and help in practical ways
- SAFETY – having a “come as you are” attitude, no condemnation, confidentiality
- TRUTH – seeking God’s truth, and speaking truth in love to one another
- AUTHENTICITY – be your real self, taking risks in our relationships
- PRACTICE – a place to practice and live out the “one-another” teachings
- GROWTH – intentional discipleship towards life-change, growth and multiplication
